Things I wish I hadn't said today

No
Careful!
No
That is not a toy
No
Cars aren't for throwing
No
Don't throw balls at the TV!
No
Hurry up, your sister is crying
No
Can it wait?
No
Later
No
We have to go home now
No
Shush
No
In a minute
No
Mind that!
No
Don't stand on her!

Hoping tomorrow to replace some of these with the following:
What do you want to do?
Let's have a cuddle
Yes, I'd love to
She's asleep what shall we do now?!
Shall we go out?
Shall we dance?
Let's do a jigsaw
Can we read a book?
Let's colour!

You're very hard on yourself. I say these things every.single.day. And I've only got one...

That sounds like most of my days!! It's hard you feel like you're constantly telling them off and it's a wonder they end up getting tantrumy on you! I think your plan for tomorrow is a good one, hope it goes well. It'll get easier when baby stops feeding and you can spend time together doing things!

Don't be too hard on yourself, we all have days where we seem to be the 'evil mummy' to our toddlers. When I'm going through a stage of having to tell Ben off all the time I try (emphasis on try) to instead keep telling him when he is being good (oh you're being so good standing still near Mummy in the line while we wait, that's it good boy you're playing so nicely with your toys etc....).

It seems to work and at least banishes some Mummy guilt for a few days. xx

Yup - that sounds just like me too. Don't worry - you are just being a good mummy and it does get better when they are a little older!! If you get a chance to read my blog, you will see that I'm still saying no to unsuitable clothes being worn by my 10 year old daughter though...... good luck!

Thank you all. Even just truthfully writing this made me feel better, and things are improving!
